Ms. Mantoani: Office Hours
Need extra help? Have questions about an assignment? I am always happy to help. As junior high students, I encourage you to ask questions of your teachers whenever you need help. Asking for help on your own is an essential skill for being both a successful high school and college student in later years.
If you need help with a particular assignment, please bring it with you. I am happy to spend time with students getting the work started and making sure you will have no further questions at home.
Available days/times: I am available for help on most days at lunch, Monday-Friday. Please be certain to arrive at the beginning of lunch as students who exit to the courtyard are not allowed to return to classrooms without a pass. After school, I am generally available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (except weeks when I am assigned after school duty). Arrive immediately after school for help.
Contacting Ms. Mantoani
With questions regarding assignments, grades, and absences, I encourage students to contact me through my office hours above. Asking your child to first attempt to resolve any issues or get any questions answered will help to develop an essential academic independence in your child that will serve him/her well in later life. Another important thing to remember is that it is your child sitting in class each day, so sometimes it can be easier and faster to resolve questions with the student (who should already have the majority of the information and may just need a few reminders), than with a parent, who may need a lot of background information to understand an assignment. If, after your child contacts me, you have additional questions, please contact me through e-mail via the PJHS website staff page. For serious issues and concerns regarding student growth and progress, I am often available after school for a conference (just e-mail to set up an appointment).
